What to expect from our phlebotomy service
Private blood testing should be straightforward. Here is exactly what happens from the moment you enquire to the moment you understand your results.
Choosing the right test
Start by telling us what you want to understand rather than which test to order. Tiredness, hormones, heart risk and nutrition all point to different panels.
We help you pick something proportionate, and we say when a test is unlikely to add anything useful.
The appointment
Sample collection happens in a private consultation room and usually takes ten to twenty minutes including paperwork.
Urine samples, where needed, can be provided at the same visit.
Laboratory processing
Samples go to an accredited UK laboratory with strict quality control. Most results return within a few working days, with specialist assays taking longer.
Understanding your report
You receive a clear report with reference ranges, and we go through anything flagged in plain language.
Where a result needs medical follow-up we say so directly and advise you to share the report with your GP.
In short
Tests provide information, not diagnosis. The value is in interpreting them alongside your history and symptoms.
This article is general information and does not replace individual clinical advice. If you have symptoms that concern you, speak to our team, your GP or call 111.
